Ke Kula Kaiapuni ʻo Ānuenue is nestled in the lush Pālolo Valley, where it rains on most days, but did you know that it is the only K-12 public school on Oʻahu that does not have a covered gymnasium for their students?
Campaign OLA is a fundraising effort spearheaded by Nā Leo Kākoʻo, the parent board for Ke Kula Kaiapuni ʻo Ānuenue, to help to raise funds for a multipurpose gym for the school. On rainy days, which are most days in the valley of Pālolo, we want our children to be able to strengthen their bodies and naʻau, no matter the weather. For our student athletes, we want them to have a place to practice their skills so that they have a level playing field on which to compete. When we celebrate our kūpuna and gather our school community together, we want a place that welcomes them in comfort and with aloha. This is the potential impact of this space on the Ānuenue campus - not just for our students, but for our entire community.
Work has already started towards this effort, including a partnership with the UH Mānoa School of Architecture to design the building and funding to draw up plans for the building, but more funding is needed to actually execute those plans. We need your help to make this building a reality - for the youngest member of our school community to the oldest! All funds will go to Nā Leo Kākoʻo o Oʻahu, which is the non-profit 501(c) 3 organization that supports the educational activities at Ke Kula Kaiapuni ʻo Ānuenue. All funds donated towards this effort will go towards Campaign OLA.
